European Commission Vice-President visits SIBS
Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, meets with SIBS Administration to know its contributions on behalf of PSD 2 (Payment Service Directive 2) implementation and the establishment of a fintech ecosystem in Portugal.
SIBS, the only private company to receive the European responsible during its visit to Lisbon, took the advantage of this occasion, to demonstrate MB WAY withdrawals, one of the most innovative features of the most comprehensive, modern and innovative payments app in Portugal, and to introduce its Business Activity Monitor.
This visit of the Vice-President of the European Commission to Lisbon is integrated on the European Semester and coordination of the social and economic policies of the Member states and it was dedicated to the Economic and Monetary Union deepening, social policy, capital market and fintech.

Dombrovskis’ visit testifies SIBS significance in the financial sector, namely in the payments area, and its essential role on behalf of digital economy”, said Madalena Cascais Tomé, SIBS CEO.
During Dombrovskis’ visit to Lisbon, SIBS also participated in a meeting with CEOs of fintech and banking institutions at the European Commission Representation in Portugal dedicated to Fintech’s challenges in Portugal and the European Union proposals.
