So that a terminal operates in Multibanco network, it must accomplish the physical, technical
and functional requirements, as well as security equirements established by SIBS, in order to
assure the reliability and security of the equipments connected to the network.
Regarding Homologation, SIBS issues the security and physical requirements that the equipments
must fulfill, considering the international payment systems rules and Multibanco network
rules.
Regarding Certification, SIBS issues the service technical specifications, established
according to Multibanco services and international payment systems’ rules, always considering
the service and environments development on which the equipments function.
SIBS is the entity responsible for the Homologation and Certification of all the equipments
and terminals in Multibanco network. As so, SIBS evaluates, selects and certifies the equipments
from any manufacturer (national or international), issuing Homologation/Certification certificates
to the ones that fulfill the established requirements.
Any changes performed on the equipments, must be previously communicated to SIBS, who will
perform a re-evaluation to issue a new certificate.
