Acquiring Service

One-stop-shop services offer

Basic services

SIBS’s acquiring platform is able to process all cards (debit, prepaid, credit and private label), as well as international schemes (VISA, VISA Electron, VPay, Plus, MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus, American Express, JCB, Diners, Eufiserv, UnionPay).

For “on-us” bank cards, SIBS can provide additional services, namely stand-in authorization as well as innovative business transactions. For “not-on-us” international schemes cards, SIBS provides all transactions supported by those schemes.

SIBS provides several basic transactions, namely purchase, refund (return of purchase), cancel last transaction, key enter transaction, mail order/telephone order (MOTO), authorization/amount reservation and reversal authorization/amount reservation.

Before the authorization process, SIBS performs the necessary validations, and if these are successfully performed, they are followed by the authorization process. After this, SIBS may interface with diversified authorization centers, e.g. individual banks (or network of banks) or the International Payment Systems (IPS).

Innovative and value added services

Over SIBS services offer through POS acquiring value chain, SIBS provides to its costumers several value added and innovative transactions, such as (not exhaustive):

  • Prepaid mobile top-ups (SIBS has been the first processor to perform mobile top-ups in the world).
  •  Bill payments (more than 1.000 companies using it).
  • Dynamic Currency Conversion - DCC (allows cardholders to make payments in their own currency at Merchant’s POS, while the Merchant is still paid in the currency of its own account).
  • On-screen account balance enquiry (allows to display cardholders’ balance account at the POS terminal’s screen).
  • Advanced purchase operations (the buyer defines the intended credit conditions by choosing a set of options such as number of payment periods or interest rate).
  • Bonus points card management (loyalty points will be summed up in a “points account” associated to each card, e.g. to support company promotions).
  • Contactless payments (purchases are done offline, without card contact, no PIN and no receipt).
  • Cheque request (the cardholder can request cheques through a POS).

Optional and back-office services

Additionally, SIBS offers various optional tools and back-office services:

  • Voice Authorization - the acquirer has the possibility to collect and process voice authorization request from the merchants.
  • Manual invoices - the acquirer receives invoices, scans them into a file with a pre-defined layout and sends the logical information to SIBS, processing it as an electronic transaction.
  • Internet transactions/Virtual POS terminal - for merchants with an internet store, SIBS provides an application that can be fully integrated in merchants’ website.
  • Voice Authorization call-center - handles telephone authorization requests and reversals of authorization requests from merchants who do not have electronic POS terminals.
  • Exception management back-office service - complementary to the exception processing service, SIBS also provides the execution of the administrative processes necessary to exception management.
  • Manual invoices scanning - SIBS’ offer includes the outsourcing of manual invoices’ scanning data entry, using Intelligent Character Recognition, generating the transactions file ready to be processed as a standard electronic transaction.
