- Put your personal safety first. Avoid using the ATM at night time and at deserted or dim lit
places; Be aware of others around you. If someone close to the cash machine is behaving
suspiciously or makes you feel uncomfortable choose another ATM
- If possible, try to use the same ATM always in order to detect any change in the machine;
- If you notice anything unusual or abnormal about the machine, or if there are any signs of
tampering, do not use it and report it to SIBS immediately through the following numbers:
808 201 251 or

Using an ATM
- Give other users space to enter their PIN in private. We recommend you to stand about two
metres away from the user in front of you until they have completed their transaction
- Be aware of your surroundings; make sure that the person behind you keeps the recommended
distance. Never allow yourself to be distracted while using the cash machine. If someone is
crowding you or watching you, cancel the transaction and go to another machine
- Never force the card into the badge reader
- Do not insert the PIN before you are asked to
- Stand close to the cash machine and always shield the keypad to avoid anyone seeing you enter
the PIN. Do it by covering the keypad with your spare hand, in order to keep the transaction as
private as possible, shielding the number from prying eyes or hidden cameras
- During the transaction if you notice anything unusual or abnormal indicating that the ATM may
have been tampered with, cancel it and report the facts to the bank;
- Withdraw the card from the badge reader as soon as you are asked to. If the card is retained by
the cash machine inform your bank immediately. Do not accept help from strangers
Leaving an ATM

leaving the cash machine
- Do not stand by the ATM with your cash
- If you notice any illegal activity, leave the area and report it to the police as soon as
possible
