When is a sum transferred via ATM credited to the account of the recipient?
The availability of the funds in the recipient's account varies according to whether the
operation is an intrabank transfer (when the accounts of the transferor and transferee are held in
the same bank) or interbank (when the two accounts are held in different banks).
Intrabank transfers made up to 3.00 pm on a business day must be credited on the same day;
those made after 3.00 pm or on Saturdays, Sundays and bank/public holidays may be credited by the
next business day. In any case, the account of the transferor will be debited at the same time that
the transferee's account is credited.
In interbank transfers the transferee's account is credited on the next working day after the
transferor's account is debited. If the transfer is made up to 3.00 pm on a business day, the debit
occurs on that business day; in other cases (after 3.00 pm or on Saturdays, Sundays and bank/public
holidays) the debit takes place on the next business day.
When is a cash deposit in banknotes, made via ATM credited to the receiving account?

account instantly.
Deposits made outside business hours (8.30 am - 3.00 pm) or on Saturdays, Sundays and
bank/public holidays must be credited by the next business day.

except in exceptional circumstances or in the event of force majeure. Saturdays, Sundays and
bank/public holidays are not included in this 24-hour period.

Can I use my bank card to pay for tolls?
Yes. In this case all you need to do is present your card through which the payment is to be
carried out. In payments of this type, the accumulated amounts are summed and periodically debited
from the client's account.
Why is it not necessary to enter the secret code when paying tolls?
The payment of toll charges falls under the Low Value service, created in 1991, with the
objective of providing bank clients with the possibility of carrying out payments of small amounts
with debit or credit cards, without the need for previous authorization involving a secret
code.
Why am I asked, in certain countries, to sign the receipt when I make purchases with my card, which works in Portugal with the secret code?
In certain countries, namely Spain, it is not necessary to enter the secret code, not even for
purchases where the amount is automatically debited from one's account, so that the validation of
the purchase is done via the signature on the purchase receipt.
